Here's where you can find some basic scheduling information about two Winter 2012 sessions of the Golden Gate Audubon Society sponsored "California Raptors in Winter" class! This is class suitable for all levels of bird enthusiasts Please check out the calendar below for presentation and field trip dates for both the San Francisco and Berkeley area classes Our mild climate with habitats rich in prey make California an ideal destination for raptors in winter. These classes will focus on the amazing evolutionary adaptations and life histories of California’s hawks, eagles, harriers, kites, and falcons. Presentations include information specific to resident, migrant, and seldom-seen vagrant raptors. On two full day field trips we’ll have opportunities to view and concentrate on this order, but won't ignore the myriad other birds that call California home during winter. The East Bay class meets at the Golden Gate Audubon office: 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, Suite G The San Francisco class is held at the EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park and is cosponsored by Literacy for Environmental Justice. For a map click here: Directions to The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park Ample parking is available at both locations - Please plan to carpool for the field trips REGISTRATION: CALL 510-843-2222 or go to: www.goldengateaudubon.org/education/classes Each class is limited to 20 participants with a $60.00 fee paid to Golden Gate Audubon Society |
