Here's where you can find some basic scheduling information about the Summer 2008 session of the Golden Gate Audubon Society sponsored "Wild Birds of San Francisco" class! Summer is a most excellent time to get to know birds that breed and nest in San Francisco. Swallows amass by the hundreds scooping up flying insects on and above lakes, ponds and meadows. Residents songbirds such as the Wrentit, Towhees, Vireos and Brown Creepers, along with a large variety of Woodpeckers are busy raising their fledglings in the coniferous and broad leaf forests. Southern seabirds such as Brown and American White Pelicans fly up from the south perhaps to enjoy the cooler weather or better fishing and mingle with Gulls, Terns, Cormorants, Avocets, Stilts & Herons. By late July shorebirds who breed in the Great Northwest begin returning. By now, you probably know about the location for the Tuesday night presentations which run about 2.0 hours but if you need directions or more info on the Randall Museum here is the link: The Randall Museum |
